It is my pleasure to write few lines as a coordinator in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya at Dalgaon, Darrang, Assam. The foundation stone of the college building was laid down by Hon’ble Education and Health Minister, Govt. of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma in presence of local MLA (Dalgaon LAC), Md. Illias Ali on 08/02/2014.
Dalgaon is an agriculturally and industrially developing are in the district headquarter. Undivided Darrang was one of the important districts of Assam in socio-ecomomical and cultural aspects of the state and the present District has been separated in two districts i.e. Darrang and Udalguri geographically in 2004. The district headquarter is located at Mangaldoi which is 68 KM away from Guwahati with a total population of 9,08,090 ( Census 2011 ) and 64.55% literacy rate occupying an area of 3481 Sq. Kilometers. The District is situated between the latitude 2609′ N-91045’E and longitude 26045′ N-92022′ E. It has a population of diverse ethnic, religion and linguistic communities which make a rich cultural heritage and social custom.
I hope, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, Dalgaon, Darrag will meet the aspiration and perception of the community and will be a best educational and research center in the country.
